How Purses works
In plain language.
Most crypto docs are written for developers. These are not.
1. What is Purses?
Purses is a new kind of crypto wallet. The interface looks like a purse, and the things inside the purse, Cards, Coin Pouch, Checkbook, Mirror, Mints, Headphones, Phone, Notebook, Keys, are how you do everything you would normally do in crypto.
It is for people who want in but feel like the existing apps were made for someone else. It is built around three ideas: open a purse, earn together, learn crypto as you go.
Purses is not a trading terminal. It is not investing advice. It is a way to take part in crypto with people you trust.
2. Getting started
Install a Solana wallet (Phantom or Solflare are the friendliest for first-timers). Buy a small amount of SOL from inside the wallet. Open Purses and connect.
If any of those steps are unfamiliar, the Getting Started page walks through it more carefully.
New to crypto? Start here →3. What is inside the purse
Nine items, each with its own job:
- Keys
- Your progress unlocking crypto, in plain language. Charms and dictionary live here.
- Cards
- Your stack of memberships, partners, and profiles.
- Coin Pouch
- Your holdings, present tense. Buy, sell, lock.
- Checkbook
- The ledger. Every move you have made: claims, trades, earnings.
- Mints
- Launch a new token, with fair-launch defaults baked in.
- Mirror
- Copy trades from people you follow.
- Headphones
- Listen to what is happening. Ask Claude about the market.
- Phone
- Alerts and messages.
- Notebook
- The brain of your smart bag. Saves, watching, interests, taste.
4. How earning works
Every token launched through Purses charges a small trading fee. That fee is split between the creator, Purses, and Bags (our launchpad rails). The community share flows back to people who hold the token, not just to the creator.
When you launch a token through Mints, you can flip on DividendsBot. That automatically distributes part of your fees back to your token's holders.
Earnings show up in your Checkbook. Tap Cash Out to claim them. After a successful claim, Purses can offer to convert the SOL into $PURSES, then optionally lock it on Streamflow.
5. Charms and fluency
Doing things in Purses earns charms: small badges grouped into Learning, Activity, Social, Long-time, and Hidden. They live on Keys.
Crypto fluency is tracked separately: every time you tap an underlined word and learn it, your fluency count goes up. Hit milestones (First Word, Fluent, Fluent Speaker, Translator) and unlock new charms.
6. Safety and the fine print
Purses is non-custodial. We never hold your keys or your SOL. Your wallet stays under your control the whole time.
"Learn crypto as you go" is not financial advice. Tokens can lose value. Locked tokens are locked, even if the price moves. Read what you are signing before you sign it.
Headphones is rate-limited (about 15 questions a day for Guests, more for Members) so the model stays available for everyone.
7. The $PURSES token
$PURSES is the platform token. Members hold any amount of $PURSES; the $PURSES Card is the unified identity and balance concept.
Buy-and-lock on the platform fee share (not burn). Locks are publicly visible on Streamflow. Two tiers: Guest and Member. Member unlocks expanded chat, taste summaries, briefings, and other paid features.
Token details →8. Common questions
- Is this investing?
- No. Purses helps you participate in crypto, learn how it works, and earn from tokens you helped create. Tokens can lose value. Don't put in money you cannot afford to lose.
- Can I lose money?
- Yes. Tokens go up and down. Locks hold your tokens for the time you set. Treat any spending as exactly that.
- What is a purse, actually?
- A shared, named pot of activity. Some purses are solo. Some are with friends. Some are around an event or a project. Each one can launch its own token.
- Do I need a wallet?
- Yes. Phantom or Solflare. We never hold your keys.
- How is this different from Bags?
- Bags is the launchpad rails underneath. Purses is the experience on top: the items, the progression, the people, the earning. We could not exist without them.
